The city of Volos, if nothing else, is famous for its tsipouro taverns, which are said to exceed 250. On Taki Oikonomaki 68, in the heart of the city, you will find the small plates tavern “Barracuda”.

Traditional or contemporary? We don’t follow trends, we let our tsipouro and our small plates speak for themselves.

Fresh fish and seafood from the fish market of Volos, made with passion and care, and our tsipouro, smooth, with or without anise, filling the air with the scent of Greece.

The seafood was extremely fresh, the food delicious, and the service impeccable. But what really made this night special was the owner. When I asked for a local liqueur, he personally came out, offered me a taste on the house, and shared a drink. It was a spontaneous, generous gesture that showed true Greek hospitality. Highly recommended.

Die Speisekarte bietet eine schöne Auswahl an Gerichten: Eine Vielfalt an Vorspeisen, Fisch-, Fleisch und vegetarische Gerichte. Zusätzlich gibt es wechselnde Tagesgerichte. Wir hatten uns u.a. für eine Moussaka mit Kabeljau entschieden. Das Essen war frisch, sorgfältig und sehr gut gekocht, der Service aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Eine gute Wahl!
